Trina David works at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix where she spends hours in the blazing heat.
On summer days, the Tarmac feels much hotter than the surrounding city. Like an even more concentrated heat island effect, temperatures on the pavement can sky rocket. In June, on a 112 degree day, David pointed her heat gun at the ground. It read 155 degrees.
