Support services for homebound seniors and persons with disabilities
We provide support services to homebound senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the Southeast Valley (Arizona).
About Care delivers caring and compassionate support services using trained volunteers with special concern for the homebound elderly and persons with disabilities of the East Valley, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley. We encourage and enable independent living by assisting our neighbors to continue living in their homes with dignity and self-respect.
Please return to this section often as we routinely share new information.
Humans are social by nature and research shows that social networks tend to decrease in size as we age leading to increased cases of isolation and loneliness. Through research, social isolation and loneliness have been linked to higher risk of high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, weakened immune system, depression, anxiety, cognitive decline including Alzheimer’s disease and even death.
Nine nonprofits across Maricopa County promote aging in place by pairing caring volunteers with “neighbors” who need a bit of help.
Did you know that the Arizona Caregiver Coalition offers four reimbursement programs for caregivers? Check out the Family Caregiver Reimbursement Program, Maricopa County Caregiver Support Program, Respite Voucher Program, and the Arizona Veteran Caregiver Support Program.
